Shan L Brewer 55, of Byers Texas passed away on Wednesday, August 6, 2025

A Christian wake will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, August 11th, at Lunn's Funeral Home followed by a visitation. Graveside services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 12th at Riverside Cemetery in Byers, Texas.

Shan was born on December 12, 1969, in Wichita Falls, Texas. Shan spent his childhood going to rodeos, spending time with his sister and cousins whether it was swimming in his aunt's pool or building bicycle ramps. He had fond memories of "the farm" as everyone referred to it, and he loved to recount his days there and cherished the memories.

Shan was passionate about many things, but closest to his heart was organ donation. Shan was diagnosed with a liver disease that required an organ donation in 2010. After 5 years on the liver transplant list, he received the most precious gift, that could never be repaid, on April 8, 2015.  Upon healing, Shan and his wife Lisa decided to make every moment count. They sold the house and most of their possessions, bought an RV and were full time RV'ers for 8 years.  During this time Shan experienced many wonderful adventures that most people only dream of. He summitted 3 of Colorado's 14ers (mountains in Colorado that reach an elevation of at least 14,000 feet), completed the Manitou Incline, countless hikes, skiing, snowshoeing, ice skating on a frozen pond, train rides, zip lining, white water rafting, kayaking, mule rides, mountain biking, stood on the top of mountains, valleys, and canyons in awe, viewed some of the most spectacular sunsets and never took a day for granted. He called them his 10 "bonus" years.

Friends and acquaintances describe Shan as warm-hearted, gracious, courageous, strong in his faith, and quick with a kind word and often reached out to those in need. He will be fondly remembered by all who knew him.

Shan was preceded in death by his mom Sheila Knight and step- dad Danny Miller; grandparents Clem and Dortha Knight and Gertrude and Sherman Brewer.

Shan is survived by his wife, Lisa of Byers, Texas; daughter Mandy (Cody) Huston of Throckmorton, Texas; sister Danya Miller of Wichita Falls; brother Chad Brewer of Austin; dad Leroy (Janice) Brewer of Columbus, Texas; nephews Landon Stewart and Lane Stewart of Wichita Falls; aunt Karen (KK) Hull of Archer County; 3 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; beloved pets Idgie Ruth and Konei Rose; and numerous cousins, and friends.

Guest are encouraged to say a prayer and tie a knot on the prayer quilt that drapes Shan's coffin when visiting. The prayer quilt was a gift that he received prior to his transplant and holds a special place in his heart.

The Brewer and Morgan family wishes to thank the Staff at the Liver Institute at Methodist Dallas, Hospice of Wichita Falls for their compassionate care, as well as the many friends who supported Shan in his final days. While his absence leaves an irreplaceable void, his legacy of kindness, faith, and love endures in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
