Tommie Parker, 96, passed away January 5, 2021 in Wichita Falls. A  Private Graveside service was held at 10:00 AM, Thursday, January 14, 2021 in Crestview Cemetery with Pastor Chad Stubblefield officiating.

Tommie was born on November 7, 1924 in Fort Worth, Texas. Her parents were Inez Perry Meaders and John Alexander Meaders. After graduation, she moved to Wichita Falls where she married Gerald W. Parker on July 28, 1952. They became active in the Presbyterian Church where she taught Sunday School. Tommie became a biblical scholar and held quite enlightened views of Christianity and the life of Jesus.. She also looked at the bible as a piece of archeology and history. She worked as an Executive Assistant at KWFT Radio where she was on duty during the Kennedy Assassination. She is a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Tommie was a pianist and she loved to write.

Tommie and her partner, Dr. Kenneth Deets, established Parkair Travel Agency in 1969 where she worked until her retirement in 1982. There she traveled the world and spent a great deal of time in the Holy Land.

Tommie was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, John Meaders III. She is survived by her son, Dr. Kenneth Parker of Austin; a daughter, Carla Parker Bolin of Wichita Falls; three grandchildren, Mandi Parker Troupe of Austin, Ashley Bennett Parsons and Clint Bennett of Wichita Falls. She also had four great grandchildren.
