Tonye Sue Shirey, 67, of Wichita Falls passed away on February 15, 2022.

The family will receive friends at a visitation from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Friday, February 18 ^th at Lunn's. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 19th at Edgemere Church of Christ. Internment will follow at Highland Cemetery in Iowa Park, Texas, under the direction of Lunn's Colonial Funeral Home.

Tonye was born on October 5, 1954, (Two minutes after her Twin Tanya), to James and Lois Hamm in Wichita Falls, Texas.

Tonye graduated from Rider High School in 1973. She graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Education, and on September 3, 1982, she married the love of her life Pat Shirey. She worked for her Daddy at Featherlite Brick for over ten years before going to work at the North Texas State Hospital, where she retired after 28 years. At retirement, she was a Volunteer Coordinator. She loved her job, her volunteers and cared so much for the patients. She loved her church Edgemere Church of Christ and for 63 years was a charter member.

Tonye was preceded in death by her parents, James and Lois Hamm; grandson Ryker Shirey; brother-in-law Robert Shirey; and mother and father-in-law, Gordon and Lucile Shirey.

She is survived by her loving husband of 39 years Pat Shirey; twin sons Rob and Jim Shirey; her twin sister and best friend Tanya Rodriguez and husband Zeke; sister-in-law Connie Shirey; her grandchildren: Kaylee Koch, Easton Shirey, Kaiden Shirey, and Bryson Shirey; nieces: Leighann Rodriguez-Maney, Wendy Rodriguez-Gall, Amy Krug, Lindsey Pittman and Kendall Shirey; great nephews: Timothy Honeycutt, Jimmy Honeycutt, Jacob Bennett, Ethan Bennett, Franky Beltran, Rudy Beltran, Zeke Beltran, Crockett and Walker Pittman; great nieces: Rahni Leonard and Chloe Krug. She is also survived by a tremendous amount of friends.

Tonye was a woman of God, who never met a stranger. Tonye always put others before herself. Her laugh and smile were contagious. She loved life and lived everyday with a smile. Tonye believed in the best in everyone.
