Tyra Lee (Ty) Elam, 73, of Wichita Falls, went home to Jesus on Monday, June 21, 2021.

A visitation will be held at Lunn's Colonial Funeral Home on Thursday, June 24th, from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m.  Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 25th, at Crestview Memorial Park with Dr. Mark Foley officiating.  Following that, a memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Wichita Falls, Dr. Bob McCartney officiating.  Arrangements are under the direction of Lunn's Colonial Funeral Home.

Son of the late Callie (Smith) and J.T. Elam, Ty was born on June 14, 1948, in Wichita Falls.  He was blessed to build a life in Wichita Falls surrounded by family and lifelong friends who feel like family. Ty graduated from Rider High School and Midwestern University.  During high school, Ty learned the ropes of the business J.T. opened in 1939, A&E Blind and Awning.  Over the next 50 years, J.T., Ty, and his cousin Randy worked hard to make A&E a local company that would bring much satisfaction and pride to Ty and all his family.

Ty's lifelong passions were for music, good food, travel, and making memories with his friends and loved ones.  He was always ready with a joke and a laugh, and he loved his family and the Lord with all his heart.

Ty was preceded in death by his parents, and is survived by his cherished wife of nearly 52 years, Joy Elam; daughter Robin (Musumeci) and her husband Salvatore; daughter Shelly (Middleton); and six year old grandson Luca Musumeci.  He is also survived by his adored sister Gayla Boland and her husband John, as well as beloved cousins, niece, and nephews.
