Velda M. Jackson, 93, of Wichita Falls, passed away in Norman, Oklahoma on Friday, January 6, 2023.

Funeral services will be at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, January 13 th at Lunn's Chapel with Dr. Mark Green officiating. Private entombment will be at Crestview Memorial Park Mausoleum later that day under the direction of Lunn's Colonial Funeral Home.

Born on January 2, 1930, Velda was the daughter of the late Lorena (Rhodes) and John Melvin Melton. She was raised in Oklahoma City, OK along with three younger brothers, Doyle Melton, Melvin F Melton (Sonny) and Gerald Melton.

In December of 1949 she married Mark C. Jackson. They moved to Wichita Falls, Texas in 1966 and became members of Floral Heights United Methodist Church. Velda spent many years in banking/accounting and ended her career in 2014 after working 30 plus years at Styles and Associates, CPA.

Velda was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers and her husband of 44 years, Mark Jackson.

She is survived by her daughter, Kim Jackson and her husband David Whitaker of Norman, OK; grandson Scott Whitaker and wife Ashley of Fort Worth, Texas and great granddaughter, Crosby Whitaker of Fort Worth.
