Virginia Kerby Hearn lived a joyful life of 107 years and passed peacefully on February 9, 2021. She will be dearly remembered by her family, friends, community, and many others whose lives she touched.

Born in 1914 on a farm in Blue Grove, Texas, Virginia graduated high school in Bellevue, Texas, then moved to Wichita Falls in 1936. She put herself through business college and became the Credit Sales Manager for S&Q Clothiers where she worked for forty years until retirement.

Virginia was well-known for her tenacity and generosity that contributed to better lives for others. She always led and served for meaningful causes. One example was the Southside Girl's Club, a place made possible by profits from the Penny Saver Post, an all-volunteer resale shop she helped run through her Soroptimist Club.

She was a devout member of Tenth and Broad Church of Christ and its Women's Bible Study group. Virginia was an active member of the Social Order of the Beauceant, Daughters of the Nile, Wichita Falls Consumer Credit Association, DECA, Southside Youth Senter (formerly Southside Girl's Club), and Soroptimist Club.

Virginia is survived by her nephew Thomas W. Brown and wife Gretchen, niece Judy K. Hanks and husband Hershell, and many descendants from her nieces and nephews, all of whom she loved very much.

She is preceded in death by her parents John W. and Nell Kerby, sister Frances and husband Lester Brown, sister Colene and husband E.B. Jopling, sister Johnnye and husband James L. Brown, sister Ruth and husband Alfred Harris, brother J.D. and wives Willie and Vera Kerby, nephews Joe K. Jopling, C. Roy Jopling, James D. Brown, and nieces Paula K. Johnson and Mary Nell Donald.

A Visitation will be held from 1:00 - 6:00 PM, Monday, February 22, 2021 at Lunn's Colonial Funeral Home. A small, private family service will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, February 23, 2021 at the 10th and Broad Church of Christ. The service will be streamed for friends to view online.
