Virginia Nutt Jones, 86, of Wichita Falls, passed away on Wednesday, August 17, 2022, in Dallas, Texas.

The family will receive friends at a visitation from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 21 ^st at Lunn's Colonial Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, August 22 ^nd at First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Michael Hansen officiating. Interment will follow at Crestview Memorial Park under the direction of Lunn's Colonial Funeral Home.

Virginia was born on November 10, 1935 in Wichita Falls to Lucille and Milburn Ellis Nutt, Sr. She attended local schools and graduated from Wichita Falls High School in 1954 and continued her education at the University of Texas in Austin, graduating in 1958.

On June 20, 1958 she married Robert H. Jones; they were married for 42 years until his death in August, 2000, and shared two sons Kyle Jones and Clay Jones.

After raising her family, Virginia held the position of Director of Volunteer Services at the Wichita General Hospital. Her volunteer and community organizations included The Wichita General Hospital Auxiliary, The Junior League of Wichita Falls, Inc., The Woman's Forum, The Kemp Center for the Arts, The Wichita County Heritage Society, The Wichita Falls Symphony Orchestra, and the Kappa Kappa Gamma Alumnae Organization. Virginia was an active member of First Presbyterian Church of Wichita Falls, where she served as an Elder, a Deacon, member of the Koinonia Sunday School Class, and member of the Sanctuary Choir. She also served on the Board of the Presbyterian Manor and on the Presbyterian Manor Foundation Board. Virginia loved to travel and made trips to six of the seven continents.

Virginia was preceded in death by her parents Lucille and Milburn Nutt, Sr., her husband Robert H. Jones, and her nephew Leslie (Les) Nutt.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Kyle and Karen Jones of Kerrville, TX, and her son Clay Jones of Dallas, TX; her brother and sister-in-law, Carol and Milburn Nutt, Jr., niece Heidi Nutt, all of Wichita Falls; niece and husband, Alison and Dryden Boyce of Fort Worth, TX; great-niece Sydney Nutt of Dallas, TX, and three great-nephews, Garrett Nutt of Beaumont, TX, Patrick Boyce of Boulder, CO, and Parker Boyce of Fort Worth, TX.

Virginia will be dearly missed by all those she's known and loved across the many different paths of her life. She was our model of faith and service, grace and gratitude, joy and adventure, giving back and moving forward. We celebrate her life and will feel her vibrant presence each day.
