Wanda Pearl Sturgis Ewalt, 90, passed away on Sunday, October 27, 2024 in Wichita Falls, Texas.

Wanda was born in Cement, OK on July 29, 1934 to the late Cecil Sturgis and Lelia Tendall.

She was the 5th of 7 children in the family raised on a farm.

She and William (Bill) Ewalt married on August 15, 1952 in Oklahoma City before moving to Wichita Falls, Texas where they enjoyed life together for 67 years. They were blessed with 3 children, Rick, Donna and Linda.  In addition to being a wife and mother, she had a passion for the arts and learned and explored many different art mediums at Midwestern State University.  She was active in the Wichita Falls Art Association and enjoyed attending Symphony performances as well.  She was a former member of Church of the Good Shepherd.

Wanda is survived by her 3 children, Richard Ewalt of Norman, Oklahoma, Donna Mansur (Bill) of Wichita Falls and Linda Stamps of Grapevine.  She had five grandchildren Jennifer Davenport (Kyle), Jonathan (Alyson) Mansur, Kristen McCleskey, Turner Stamps and Melia Stamps.  She was blessed with 8 great-grandchildren, Kylie, Adelynn, Elaina, Hudson, Sophie, Evyn, Abigayle and Cooper.  She is also survived by her sisters, Norma McElyea, Cecelia Byrd (Ron), Carol Potter (Paul) and sister-in-law Ruby Neighbors plus many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents, husband Bill Ewalt, brother Leslie Sturgis and sisters Jody Baker and Virginia Chandler, son-in-law Trey Stamps and several nephews.

Wanda's memorial service will be on Saturday, November 9 at 1:00 at Lunn's Colonial Funeral Home.

Wanda's passion was her art, her gift was design, her love was her family and her joy was her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

If desiring, memorial donations may be made in Wanda's name to The Kemp Center for the Arts.
