Wanda Glasser, 96, of Wichita Falls, passed away on Friday, July 18, 2025.

A vigil service and visitation will be at from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday July 31st at Lunn's Colonial Funeral Home.  The funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Friday August 1st at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church under the direction of Lunn' Colonial Funeral Home. Interment will be in Orange Texas at a later date.

Wanda was born in Corsicana, Texas, and later moved to Houston with her family.  She married John Glasser on August 30, 1947.  After living in Houston for several years, the family moved to Orange, Texas, for John's job at US Steel.  Unfortunately, after 30 years of marriage, John died of complications following surgery. At 48, Wanda found herself alone with three children still at home (ages 16, 12 and 8). She had no training for working outside the home, but was fortunate to be asked to work in the church rectory as its office manager. She excelled at this type of work.

In 1987, Wanda moved to Wichita Falls, Texas, where she worked as the school secretary at Notre Dame Elementary School. She loved being around to help the school children.  Wanda also became the representative for Parker School Uniforms and converted her garage to the uniform store where she was once again able to help school kids.

Wanda was a wonderful seamstress, and while raising her six children, she could always be found sewing something for one of the children or grandchildren. The entire family benefited from her skills. She enjoyed working with her hands, whether it was making doll clothes or knitting Barbie dresses. Knitting was another passion that she picked up on later in life.

Wanda became an active member of Our Lady Queen of Peace Parish after moving to Wichita Falls in 1987. She enjoyed being a member of the Prayer Shawl Ministry, which makes shawls and lap robes for church members who are in the hospital or those home bound. Shawls were also made for special occasions like weddings and baptisms. Wanda was a member of the music ministry, singing at the 8:30 mass. She also participated in CRHP and many parish retreats and bible studies.

She was preceded in death by her husband John F. Glasser; her parents Earl B. Robison, Sr. and Lena Pearl Robison; and her brother Earl B. Robison, Jr.

She is survived by her children, Kathleen Jones, Gloria and Albert Schlabs; Anne Duke, Ruth and John West; John and Lauren Glasser; and David Glasser; along with 16 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; with one more on the way.

The family wishes to thank all the care team members at the Hospice of Wichita Falls.  Their loving care provided the support needed to fully care for Wanda at home.  A special thanks to Cece, Haley, Mandy and Jennifer and the others who went above and beyond to help us take care of Mom at home.

Honorary pallbearers will be Matthew Schlabs, Daniel Schlabs, Philip Schlabs, Norbert Lathan, Michael West and Stephen West.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be sent to Hospice of Wichita Falls.
