WD "Dub" Largin, 91, of Wichita Falls, TX passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus on October 27, 2021.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM, Thursday, November 4, 2021 at Lamar Baptist Church with Pastor Mark Booker and Pastor Finis P. Beauchamp, Th.D officiating. Interment will follow the service in Crestview Memorial Park. Visitation will be held from 6-7 PM, Wednesday, November 3, 2021 at Lunn's Colonial Funeral Home.

Dub was born March 15, 1930, in Frederick, Oklahoma. He accepted Christ as his Savior at the age of 12 and was baptized at First Baptist Church Frederick, Oklahoma. He excelled in football, baseball and track for the Frederick Bombers. After graduation, he moved to Fort Worth, TX and began his education at Draughon Business College. Soon after he began his service in the U.S. Marine Corps. He played on the football team during his stint as a marine. After his military service, he became a student-athlete on the GI Bill and a football scholarship at Southeastern College in Durant Oklahoma. He received his Bachelor and Masters Degree in Administration. While at college, he met his future bride Sonya Higgs. They were married on June 14, 1956.

Dub and Sonya began their careers in education at WFISD in 1957. They left an amazing legacy and touched many lives. Dub taught and coached at Reagan Junior High and Hirschi High School. He was honored to coach in two Oil Bowl games and in the Greenbelt Bowl. After retiring he coached at Midwestern State University. In retirement, Dub and Sonya continued to develop their real estate business.

Dub was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Sonya Higgs Largin, his parents Dan Largin and Thelma Ryan Largin of Frederick, Oklahoma, sister  Doris LaJoie, and brother Douglas Largin.

He is survived by his children Kathy Ellis of Allen, TX, Karen Nichols and husband Cliff of Holliday, TX, Dan Largin of Wichita Falls, TX and Zac Ellis, son in law of Allen, TX. His grandchildren include Jeremy Ellis and wife Melissa, Will Algier and wife Shala, Tyler Ellis and wife Erin, Ryan Ellis and wife Becca, Taylor Largin, Tara Largin, Wes Nichols and wife Kait and David Largin. His great-grandchildren include Emma, Brooklyn, Ryatt, Caleb, Nova, Dallas, Walter, Gracie.

He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, mentor, coach and friend.

WD's favorite scripture is Phillippians 4:13 "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."
