Winnie "Puggy" McKee, 96, of Wichita Falls, passed away on Friday, January 21, 2022.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 27th, at Edgemere Church of Christ with Joe Williams and Scott Franks officiating. Interment will follow at Crestview Memorial Park under the direction of Lunn's Colonial Funeral Home.

A daughter of the late Winnie (York) and Jack Taylor, Winnie was born February 10, 1925, in Wichita Falls, Texas. She attended Wichita Falls Senior High School. In 1943, Winnie married the love of her life, Lester McKee. She worked for 32 years at concession stands in Wichita Falls movie theaters.

A member of Edgemere Church of Christ, Winnie was a woman of great faith and guided her family in times of crisis as well as times of joy. She was their rock and their strength.

When she saw a need, she filled it. Over the years she helped many widows with their daily needs, providing transportation, shopping for food, and offering a helping hand.

Winnie's zest for life was contagious. She had many friends and truly took an interest in their lives and their families.

Winnie had a special rapport with children. She volunteered at Wichita Christian School and Partners in Education's reading program.

Along with her parents, Winnie was preceded in death by her husband Lester McKee; sister, Betty Skierski; brothers D. L. Taylor, Marion "Bud" Taylor and Jack Taylor; and her precious dog Mitzi.

She is survived by her daughter Judy Whitaker; and grandsons Joe Whitaker of Oklahoma City, Brad Whitaker of Wichita Falls, and Michael Whitaker of Katy, Texas.
