Beloved for his soft heart, loyalty, generosity, sense of humor, gruff persona, and quiet efficacy, Norman Charles Otto, born February 16, 1948 in Wichita Falls, Texas to the late Joseph Stephen and Viola Frances Litteken Otto, died in Oklahoma on September 8, 2018. The Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, September 15, 2018 at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church with the Rev. Alexander Ambrose officiating. The Rite of Committal will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery under the direction of Lunn's Colonial Funeral Home. The Rosary will at 6:30 PM, Friday in Lunnís Colonial Chapel with a visitation to follow.

He grew up in Wichita Falls, attending Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic School, then attended St. Gregoryís in Shawnee, OK and finished at Wichita Falls High School. He attended the University of Dallas, making many precious life-long friends. During his life, he worked for the Dallas Police Department, was a trucking over-the-road owner-operator for many years, worked as a trucking safety officer, sold safety equipment for rigs, and worked in retail.

In 1985, he married the love of his life, Sandy Harman, and helped raise his step-son John with great love. He was a doting grandfather to Olivia and Jack. He had a great love for his Catholic Church, serving in many capacities including lector, Eucharistic minister and coordinator of Eucharistic ministers, RCIA team member, and council member. He was a Knights of Columbus member from college. He had a special ministry for the elderly, assisting neighbors, visiting the homebound, taking the Eucharistic to those who couldnít get to church, caring for his mother in the last months of her life, and caring for his father-in-law so that he may be at home for the last four years. Norman had been a friend of Bill W. for many years.

He is survived by his wife Sandra Harman Otto, son John Yarwood and wife Noreen of Brooklyn, NY, and their two children Olivia and Jack; his siblings Frances Otto of Ft. Smith, AR, Mike Otto and wife Jane of Lindsey, TX, Phillip Otto of Wichita Falls, TX, and Stephen Otto and wife Tracey of Wichita Falls; Goddaughters Katherine Otto Dease of Vestavia Hills, AL and Jennifer Otto Rasy of Ft. Worth that he was so proud of; and numerous family and friends.
