July 10, 1945 - June 30, 2019
On Sunday, June 30th, 2019, Skip Elliott, loving paramour and father of four daughters, passed away at age 73.
Skip was born on July 10, 1945, in Wichita Falls, Texas, to Alvis Claude Elliott Sr. and Reba (Miller) Elliott. He was raised in both Olney, Texas, and Electra, Texas, by his parents, with the assistance of his grandparents, Ermine and Zelma Miller.
Skip was one of the last true Cowboys. He was a Rodeo Pick-up Man, a Bronc Rider, a Bull Rider, a Calf Roper, and broke horses in his spare time. He was certainly not afraid of the heat since the majority of his time was spent outdoors hauling hay, cutting wood, or just piddling at the Bowie or Weatherford Trade Days. He loved country music, oldies, cow dogs, and always managed to find and wear the wildest and ugliest cowboy shirt on the rack!
Skip was preceded in death by his father, Alvis Sr.; his mother, Reba; and his step-mother Jo. He is survived by his “sweetie” Donna Paine; his daughters Julie Elliott, Sara Frerich and spouse Jonathon Frerich; Amanda Elliott, and Reba Elliott. He is also survived by his three step-brothers, Randy Looper, Rusty Looper, and Roby Looper.
Skip had 7 grandchildren, Chase Quick, Randi Quick, Charli Williams, Allison (Elliott) Howard, Olivia Elliott-Abshire, Keseaun Vinson, Kavia Vinson; and 1 great grandchild MJ aka “tater”.
Skip also had a loving relationship with Donna's grown children, Jordan Paine of Ft. Worth, Alec Paine & wife Kayleen Paine; along with their children Ryan and Murphy who all reside in Wisconsin.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, July 8th, 2019 at Lunns Colonial Funeral Home on Midwestern Parkway. Please come and join us in celebrating his life.
