Wayne Patterson
April 17, 1944 - September 2, 2018

Wayne Patterson went to be with his heavenly father on Sunday, September 2, 2018, after a lengthy battle with Dementia and Parkinsonís. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m., on Thursday at Lunnís Funeral Home. Visitation will follow the service. Arrangements are under the direction of Lunnís Colonial Funeral Home. Wayne was a proud Wichita Falls Firefighter and retired from the WFFD in 1999 after 33 years of service. He was also a member of the Maskat Shrine serving as a Director for many years and also the Faith Lodge. Wayne was a devoted and hardworking member of the Maverickís cooking group, serving up ribs to thousands in the community and beyond. He was a member of the Genesis Sunday School Class at First United Methodist Church in Wichita Falls.

Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, J.C. and Belle Patterson, his mother and father in law, Jack and Estelle Evans, and an infant brother, Billy Jay Patterson.

Survivors include his loving wife of nearly 47 years, Jill Patterson. Wayne is survived by his brother Bobby Patterson and wife Tanya and sister Linda Ryle and husband David. He is also survived by his children, Lindsay Greer, Michael Weakley and wife Debbie Ridinger, Donna Wooldridge and husband Tim, Vicky Jackson and husband Keith, and Richard Patterson and wife Linda. Wayne is survived by 11 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Of these, his greatest joys were watching his grandchildren Evan, Ethan, and Molly Greer and Cody and Charlie Weakley, play sports and participate in everything they loved. Wayne was always on the sidelines or in the audience cheering them on every chance he had. Wayne will also be remembered with love by Kenneth Greer.

The family would like to thank the staff of Midwestern Healthcare for their years of love and support taking care of Wayne. Also, the family is grateful to Kindred Hospice for their continuous care and comfort of Wayne.
