John Martin Guess, 71, of Wichita Falls, Texas, went to his heavenly home on November 18, 2018.

John was born September 3, 1947 in Abbeyville, Louisiana, to Guy C. Guess and Pauline Martin Guess. The family later moved to Weatherford, Texas, where he graduated Weatherford High in 1966. John spent 26 years in the Air Force where he served as a paramedic in Vietnam and ended his career with the Air Force as a Cardio Pulmonary Instructor at Sheppard Air Force Base in 1991. After retiring John worked at KCI as a district sales manager for therapeutic medical supplies. John was happily married to his wife Joyce Guess on June 17, 1983.

John loved dancing, and both he and his wife taught country and western dancing at various places in Wichita Falls. John loved watching football, especially the Dallas Cowboys and University of Texas Longhorns. He loved spending time with family and adored his grandchildren. He had an appreciation for music including gospel hymns, classic country and his favorite was Elvis Presley. John was a member of Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church. John is preceded in death by his parents Guy C. and Pauline Guess and his brother Randy Guess.

He is survived by his wife Joyce Guess; daughter Wendy Patterson and son-in-law Alan Patterson; daughter Stephanie Majewski and son-in-law Nathan Eads; daughter Jina Fairchild and son-in-law Jason Fairchild; son Mark Majewski and daughter-in-law Jodi Majewski; and daughter Angie Tintaya and son-in-law Alex Tintaya; grandchildren, Alex Greene, Madison White, Taylor Majewski, Austin Patterson, Connor Majewski, Jaxon Majewski, Julia Fairchild, Jonathan Fairchild, Madilyn Patterson, Liam Majewski, Nathan Weins and Travis Weins; and his brother Larry Guess and sister-in-law Kay Guess.
Visitation and vigil will be from 6:00 – 7:00PM on Friday, November 23, 2018, at Lunn’s Funeral Home in Wichita Falls. Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM on Saturday, November 24, 2018, at Our Lady Queen of Peace church in Wichita Falls. Interment will follow at Sacred Heart cemetery in Wichita Falls. Arrangements are under the direction of Lunn's Colonial Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials may be made to Hospice of Wichita Falls.
