Billy Edward “Bill” Willis, 88, of Wichita Falls passed away on Wednesday, December 5, 2018.

The family will receive friends at a visitation from 6:00 until 7:00 p.m. on Monday, December 10, 2018, at Lunn’s Colonial Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 11, 2018, at Faith Village Church of Christ with Jacob Hawk, Les McGalliard and Dale Foster officiating. Interment will follow at Rosemont Cemetery under the direction of Lunn's Colonial Funeral Home.

A son of the late Aulta Mae (Presson) and William Ray Willis, Bill was born on October 26, 1930, in Huntington, Arkansas. He graduated as Valedictorian of Mansfield High School in 1948. Bill was a member of the first pharmacy class to graduate from the University of Arkansas in 1952. He served in the Arkansas National Guard from 1953 to 1954. He then received a Direct Commission into the United States Air Force from President Dwight Eisenhower in July of 1954.

Bill served in active duty in the United States Air Force from July 1954 to July 1957. He served for two years at Sheppard Air Force Base in Wichita Falls, Texas, as pharmacy officer and assistant supply officer of the 374th Troop Carrier Wing Tactical Hospital. He served as a pharmacy officer and commander attached to 315 Air Division for one year in Tachikawa AFB Japan.

Bill served 32 years as an elder at Faith Village Church of Christ in Wichita Falls, Texas, from 1970-2002. He served 10 years as Chairman of the Board of Texoma Community Credit Union. Upon his retirement, he became the first President of Emeritus of the credit union. A United States flag was erected at the Sheppard location in his honor. He also served as Chairman of the Board of Texhoma Christian Care Center, a 370 bed nursing home and rehabilitation for over 15 years. Bill received a citation of achievement for 50 years of service from the Texas State Board of Pharmacy.

Bill has been an employee, partner and back to employee of English Pharmacy in Wichita Falls, Texas, since 1958. He worked for English Pharmacy for 58 years as a pharmacist, manager, partner and employee.

Along with his parents, Bill was also preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Doris Presson Willis in 2017; and brother-in-law, Herman Johnson.

He is survived by his children, Phil Willis and wife, Suzanne of Lakeside City; and Angie Cabe and husband, Robert of Wichita Falls; grandchildren, Daniel Willis, Ashley Willis Hibbs and husband, Jesse; David Willis and Jasmine Willis; and Forrest Cabe and Hunter Cabe; sisters, Patsy Johnson of Cabot, AR and Mary Eva Langston and husband, Russell of Conway, AR; and brother-in-law, Dale Presson and wife, Carol of Seaside, CA.
