Lavenia A. Yarberry

Lavenia A. Yarberry
March 19, 1931 - July 12, 2020

Lavenia Yarberry, 89, passed away Sunday, July 12, 2020 in the care of Hospice.

Graveside Service will be held on Tuesday, July 14th, 2020 at 3:00pm at the Crestview Memorial Park in Wichita Falls, Texas. Services will be conducted by Pastor Bill Pursley of Emmanuel Baptist Church. Arrangements are under the direction of Lunn's Colonial Funeral Home.

Lavenia was born in McIntosh County, Oklahoma to James Ray and Laura Martin (Browning) in 1931. Lavenia and E. E. (Gene) Yarberry were married in March of 1954. They had two children: a son, Larry Yarberry and a daughter, Vickie Yarberry Jordan. Lavenia worked thirty years in Air Force Civil Service as a secretary to the SAFB Hospital Commander. After retirement, from the base, she managed the family business up until the day she passed away.

Lavenia loved to serve the Lord and was a longtime member of Western Hills Baptist Church, where she taught the Ladies’ Sunday School Class for over thirty years. Everyone she met; family, friend or stranger would be asked if they had accepted the Lord as their Savior. If not, you would after talking to her.

Lavenia and Gene loved to travel the world. Lavenia loved to spoil her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Lavenia is preceded in death by her husband, E.E. Yarberry, her parents, James Ray and Laura Martin, and her brother, Billy Ray Martin.

Surviving relatives includes her sister; Anna Lee Davis, her daughter Vickie and husband Jacky Jordan of Iowa Park, a son, Larry and his wife Luann Yarberry of Wichita Falls. Five grandchildren, Jana Gilmore (Cecil), Jayne Asmus (Kris), Jodi Jordan and Houston Yarberry. Great-grandchildren, Cullen and Candence Gilmore, Connor Jordan, Trenton Wynne and Graham Summers Yarberry. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

We especially want to acknowledge the excellent care provided by Hospice of Wichita Falls, No Place Like Home Senior Care and Advantage Rehab and Healthcare for the wonderful care of our mother.
